In March 2020, a team known as Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust initiated the construction of a temple dedicated to Ram. However, due to the impact of COVID-19 in India, the construction had to be temporarily halted.
To overcome challenges in building the temple, another group called Vishva Hindu Parishad organized a special event on April 6, 2020.
People gathered at different places to recite the words “Shri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram” with the aim of ensuring smooth progress in the temple construction.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a company, is contributing by providing free design and construction services for the temple and is serving as the main contractor for the project.
The temple will be built using 600 thousand cubic feet of sandstone from Bansi Paharpur village mountain in Rajasthan. About thirty years ago, they collected more than two lakh bricks from different parts of India, which have ‘Shri Ram’ written on them.
These bricks will be used in the foundation of the temple. Traditional methods will be used for construction, with a focus on making it strong against natural disasters like earthquakes.
They won’t use iron in building the temple, and they’ll need ten thousand copper plates to connect the stone blocks.
