Mohit Pandey, a 22-year-old student studying Vedic studies at Dudheshwar Ved Vidyalaya in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, has been selected along with 28 other priests to perform rituals at the upcoming Ram temple opening in Ayodhya in January. For the past 23 years, students have been learning Vedic teachings at this location.
3 thousand applications were received from all over the country to become priests in Ayodhya temple. After interviewing them, the list was reduced to 50 top contenders. Following that, the candidates were interviewed and appointed to the position of priest in the temple.
Training Session
The candidates, chosen by Saint Jaikant Mishra from Vrindavan and Ayodhya’s Mahants, Satyanarayan Das and Nandini Sharan, are now undergoing a required 6-month training.
This training aims to boost their skills, ensuring they are well-prepared and devoted to their responsibilities. They will also receive all the necessary resources to fulfill their duties accurately during this period.
Ayodhya Ram Temple Pandit Salary
As Per Dr. Anil Mishra, a member of Shri Ram Mandir Trust, applicants should be between 20 to 30 years old.
After getting the job, the main priest will earn Rs 32,900, and assistant priests will earn Rs 31,000. This is an increase from the earlier salary of Rs 25,000 for the main priest and Rs 20,000 for assistant priests.
